How are ratings calculated?
Ratings are calculated using Evan Miller's method (based on a Wilson score confidence interval) that is self-correcting. This means that the % of positive ratings & number of ratings decide a mods position on the top charts. The benefit of this approach is a mod with 2 positive ratings will not outrank one with 10 positive ratings but 2 negative. Nor will a mod with tons of rankings outrank everything unless most of the ratings are positive.
Rating levels
Ratings range from overwhelmingly positive to overwhelmingly negative. The color changes depending where on the scale the mod fits.

Alright, now it's time for me to say a few words about all these beautiful maps.
Regular review is kinda regular, so i'll just list the things I liked about the levels.
Spoilers ahead, ofc.
Heaven and Hell by Vriska: Vriska-grade details/props; cool ideas, like this cross on the wall that flips upside-down after the portal with the rest of environment - real neat. Beer Books poster - check.
The Pit by Swamp Monster: I'd call this map cozy. Night, streetlights, really good lookin' pit. Thanks for giving a lot of explosives, it's nice to just gib everything and have fun!
Manors of Flesh by MegapiemanPHD: + point for immediate beer and book after start, + point for using the best atmospheric track in game, + point for meat. A lot of meat >:D
Above and Below by Jedly: I like the idea of upside down town, it's confusing in a good way. A lot of secrets.
Bonus point for Large Johnson.
Purgatorium by DuskyAI: nice open map, a lot of enemies to kill, overall great. I like the part when you jump into the grave, it's cool. Also the ending! It's nice to have some fun with riveter.
Disregard by Q Dude: the architecture of this map feels... alien. Mysterious. And the part in the end where you drop to the hole and you can see all the map's layers, I like it!
Deep Dive Into Sin by Aqua: How did you make ALL OF THIS so fast? Did you not sleep or eat? Absolute madman. Ultrabrutal.
Beer Books poster - not check :c
I apologize for not delivering anything myself - I started working on a map but stopped cause I don't have much time. I'll probably finish it later tho, after this cursed abomination called Lower is done.
All maps are great, the Map Jam is blessed with power of Beer Books.
My bow to every participant and to the person who organized this event, thanks!

Playing through all of the maps a second time, aiming to give some feedback for each and every submission. Here goes nothin!
In no particular order:
Above and Below by Jedly:
Uh, wow. Taking the theme very literally, and it's absolutely a blast to play. The map is super open and you can mess around at your own pace. It starts you off with low ammo and only a few weapons, which makes gathering your arsenal very rewarding. Little too cramped for that boss, though, zoinks! Overall a very enjoyable map, and it makes me wonder if it'd play just as well if it wasn't flipped on its head!
Purgatorium by DuskyAI:
Holy mackeral, this map goes in HARD, no hand-holding at all! It gives you just enough ammo to scrape by near the beginning, before going all in and pitting you against a helluva lotta ghouls and cultists and other monster baddies. Sick dynamic sequences, but at first it's hard to figure out where to go until you try every door and break everything open. It pays off well in the end, though it's super brutal if you aren't quick on your feet! Episode 1 on all kinds of 'roids, good visceral fun!
The Pit by Swamp Monster:
Short but sweet! Satisfying to leap around on the jump pads and spam the riveter and mortar. The mortar's my favorite weapon in Dusk, so I especially had fun using it to lob grenades onto unsuspecting lone cultists. The gore quarry (er, a gourry??) was cool to look at, with a giant tower in the middle that looked oh so foreboding! The map itself is nice to look at, it brings fond memories of playing through Episode 1. My only gripe is that it was too short, but given the time constraint it's quick and enjoyable.
Heaven and Hell by Vriska:
Another short and sweet map! It starts off like your average shoot-em-up frenzy map, pitting you against some baddies with some nasty tools to compensate. After going through a portal that's very reminiscent of a Quake slipgate, things take a twist! Now it's all hellish, and then the name makes so much more sense! Very surprising map, super subversive!
Disregard by Q Dude:
The name says it all, absolutely disregarding Dusk Dude's capabilities for speed and movement! The map's short, but for a first map it's honestly a breath of fresh air! Claustrophobic spaces and hordes of enemies you have to deal with all at once, it can get hectic if you don't pay attention. Little too easy to breeze through, it gets excessive with health and ammo, but it was still good for a first map. Quick, easy, but I say it's memorable! Not too shabby, Q Dude!
Manors of the Flesh by MegapiemanPHD:
Woahhhh. You're stuck in a dark, gritty and rat-infested mansion, and it's definitely pretty fleshy! Reminds me a bit of Blood, and it's teeming with atmosphere. The map architecture is wonderful to look at, you really do feel like you're in some old, ugly manor crawling with cultist goons and other devilish beings. Super fun to play through and it has some nice replay value! Wew, man, keep up the good work! Can't believe I managed to get scared of the Horror yet again! GG.
Deep Dive into Sin by Aqua:
Okay, I made this map, so I'm not gonna pat myself on the back lol. Had a lot of fun making the map, I think mixing Ultrakill and Dusk together makes a great combination! I tried to squeeze as much as I could out of the time constraint, so I went all out in every aspect. Little disappointed in the end, I could've done a better job on the final boss arena and the last major city arena, but there's always time for updated releases in the future. Definitely a great learning experience about managing scope, ambitions and juggling burnout. Can't wait for the next jam!
All of the maps here are definitely worth playing. ******* love this community so much, keep it up you mad lads. Here's hoping we get some more goodies in the SDK by the time we have another jam! So much potential for this to be a really fun event every few months, excited for the future!

Good to see so much creativity brought to the fore from people who are mostly beginners. There are some really great ideas present in these maps. And I'm not just saying that because I was a part of this Jam.

Good job to all the other contestants, these maps look awesome. Can't wait until I get the time to play them all.
